Interior

In this project, I had complete creative freedom to explore my own ideas, and I chose to focus on the interior design aspect of the medical field. I was inspired by Lindsey Mendick, who created a waiting room installation, and used that as a starting point for my own work.

I designed a waiting room installation in which every element was carefully considered: from the calming wall colours, chosen to create a sense of ease in what can often be stressful spaces, to a hanging piece made from syringes and medicine bottles, and wall art depicting viruses and bacteria.

The central feature of the installation is the people in the waiting room, who have pufferfish heads. This choice symbolises the way patients can feel in these environments—alienated, overwhelmed, and sometimes anxious about the information they are given. At the same time, the installation aims to highlight that these feelings are not experienced alone, creating a sense of shared understanding.
