Summit one Vanderbilt window display
This is a window display I created while studying abroad at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. For the project, we were tasked with selecting a brand or location to advertise and designing a window display around it. My team and I chose Summit One Vanderbilt, an immersive observation experience at the top of the One Vanderbilt skyscraper in NYC.
As the theme of the installation is “Air,” we positioned the mannequin to appear as though she was floating, suspending her with invisible string. Mirrors were used to create the illusion of height, placing her among clouds above a city skyline. We incorporated reflective silver spheres—matching the ones featured in the real Summit experience—to enhance the immersive, dreamlike quality of the scene.
Process Pictures
The display was brought to life through laser-cut wooden building forms, creating a cityscape beneath the floating mannequin. Ceiling anchors were used to suspend the backdrop and mannequin with invisible string, creating the illusion of the mannequin floating in the sky. I also designed the glass vinyl graphics using Adobe Illustrator.
