HiveWork Pod
Concept
A modular, off-grid work pod designed for digital nomads, providing a flexible space to work, connect and relax while maintaining a sense of comfort and home. Located in the garden of the Safe House in Peckham, it forms part of a wider hostel, café and co-working space for people on the move. The project aims to create a sense of grounding and belonging for those living a transient lifestyle.
A digital nomad is someone who works remotely, often self-employed, and earns a living online while travelling. This project is centred around creating a supportive environment for digital nomads and remote workers on the move.
I’ve reimagined the historic Safe House in Peckham as a welcoming hostel, maintaining its original Victorian charm while introducing modern, functional spaces. Inside, you’ll find both private and shared bedrooms, bathrooms, a communal kitchen, and a café open to guests and the public, all designed to encourage productivity and social connection. At the heart of the project are the HiveWork Pods, compact, sustainable, off-grid workspaces designed for flexibility and comfort.
